Convert OCL Procedures into Structured CL Programs Automatically
If you're looking to speed-up the process of getting your System/36 into native AS/400, or you want to reduce keying errors while creating structured CL programs or both ProStart is the conversion utility you need.
ProStart addresses three key areas of your conversion:
OCL to CL
You can select procedures from a source file and create CL programs for each procedure. ProStart determines the appropriate CL command(s), then places them correctly within the new CL program. If a comparable AS/400 command cannot be found, the S/36 procedure statement appears as a comment in the CL program. For added convenience, ProStart also creates a "condensed print" list which presents the S/36 procedure and the CL program side by side. A new summary report presents line counts of conversion/non-converted statements by the CL program.
Database Files
ProStart assists in creating AS/400 database files. Some of our commands will help you create DDS source. We also provide several reports that analyse an application and generate file layouts. You can even have these layouts loaded to new S/36 file definition source members. Once you have clean file definition source members, you can use ProStart to create field reference and physical file DDS source members. You can also create skeleton RPG programs to "map" data from the S/36 files into AS/400 database files.
RPG Audit and /400 Source Code
To make your automation easier, ProStart provides an RPG Audit Report that parses through each program and identifies those lines of code that a programmer must address. A report is generated which specifies the error involved. ProStart also generates RPG/400 source and submits the program for initial compilation.
